Members of the pupil parliament wrote in their manifestos that they would like to improve the school playground and bring nature into our school. We worked on a project for the RHS 'NO ADULTS ALLOWED' competition - designing and making a mini garden.
The children worked together to make sure all their ideas were included, and the mini garden is currently in the playground for everyone to see.
'We chose flowers for bees to help our environment. The flowers are pretty and beautiful. We got little and big blue stones to make a pathway. The pathway is for fairies so they know where to go.'
'The smelly flowers make us calm and make our school look nicer. The pool is full of water. We have got a pool because we want the fairies to have a little swim. The archway is making it pretty.'
'We chose blue because it matched our logo. We had a vote about if the flowers would go blue blue, or blue white. We chose to keep them together.'
Pupil parliament have also given us some different ideas on how to improve the school playground, and we are looking forward to doing some gardening next week during the outdoor learning day.
