A Wonderful Start for Year 1
We’ve had a wonderful start to Year 1 focusing on good listening and teamwork in order to get ready for all our exciting learning challenges this year. Children worked together to build tall towers using plastic cups and lollypop sticks. They reinforced the importance of values like working together, perseverance and problem-solving.
In our Literacy lessons we were visited by ‘The Naughty Bus’ who has been getting up to mischief all around our classrooms – stealing the fruit and making a mess! We wonder what he will be up to next week!
In Maths we have been exploring number and using objects to understand the composition of numbers up to 10, and as part of our wider curriculum, we have been looking at different materials and their properties. The children have been amazing at settling back into school routines and we are excited to see what comes next week.
