This week in Acorns, we have continued to delve into learning and exploration. The children have been discovering their favourite fruits and vegetables, engaging in a range of hands-on activities and experiences to broaden their knowledge.
In the vegetable patch, the children have been actively involved in harvesting courgettes and peppers, allowing them to gain hands-on experience with the growing process.
I maths, we have explored the concepts of 'full', 'empty', 'more', and 'less'. Practical activities and circle times have been used to facilitate understanding of these concepts, with the water tray being a valuable tool for exploration.
Additionally, the children have learned about the changing seasons, with a focus on autumn. A story reading session of 'We're Going on a Leaf Hunt' sparked their interest, and they had the opportunity to collect their own autumnal leaves, furthering their understanding of the season.
