Year 1 Space
Year 1 have been busy exploring outer space! In English we have been reading 'Astro Girl' which has sparked some great creativity.
The children have made their own 'Space Cookies' as Astrid did in the book, as well as creating some playdough aliens, and space fact files.
We have enjoyed learning about some interesting space facts and what it is like to be an astronaut.
In our STEM lessons we have been exploring pattern, including looking at artists William Morris and Orla Kiely. The children have been practising making repeating patterns with objects and exploring printing techniques. We will be using what we have practised to make our final curtain design in the coming weeks.
In Maths we have been revisiting our number bonds to 5 and investigating the different ways we can partition 5.
