Remembrance Day
To mark Remembrance Day yesterday, children from both Lightwater Village and Hammond Schools came together outside for a one minute silence at 11am. The Hammond children lined up on their school playground and we walked the LVS children across to the far end of the Field so that the children were facing each other.
Miss Cotter then explained why we had gathered and read out a couple of poems and readings.
Mr Langdon, the Music Lead at Hammond, marked the start and end of the silence with his bugle and played The Last Post, which was very poignant for us all.
